research
AI is a tool.
Tools should help and empower people – not replace them.
AI can also become a partner
– helping us to overcome challenges, solve new problems or express ourselves creatively.
For such a symbiotic partnership to really work,
we need to better understand AI and its strengths and limtations.
And AI needs to better understand us.
This is what drives my work – not only my research, but also my teaching and additional activities in coaching, consulting and science communication.
My team and I follow these general principles in our research:
- address user-driven questions in real environments
- develop solutions for real and relevant problems
- think problem-driven rather than solution-driven
- embrace interdisciplinarity as challenge and chance for significant innovation
- continue to learn and explore with each new problem
